Chap. 195.—An ACT to amend the third section of the Charter of the
Virginia Slate Company,
Passed) February 28, 1866,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the third
section of the act passed March fifteenth, cighteen hundred
and fifty-eight, entitled an act to Incorporate the Virginia
slate company in the counties of Albemarle and Buckingham,
be amended and re-enacted so as to read as tollows:
“$3. The capital stock of said company shall not exceed
two hundred and fifty thousand dollars, to be divided into
shares of one hundred dollars each, and that the said Virginia
slate company shall be and they are hereby authorized to bor-
row a sum of money not exceeding fifty thousand dollars, at
such rate of interest as may be agreed upon, by the sale of
their bonds or otherwise, on their giving a mortgage or deed
of trust on their lands and fixtures to secure the same.’
2. This act shall be in force from and after its passace.
