Chap. 187.—An ACT incorporating the Manchester Union Building Fund
Association,
Pareed February 28, 1886.
1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
R. IL Lally, A. Burnett, FLT. Blunt, Thomas Smith, R. J.
Claseley, Henry Fitzgerald, and such other persons as may
hereafter be associated with them, shall be and they are
hereby meorporated and made a body politic and corporate,
under the name and style of The Manchester Union Building
Fund Association; for the purpose of erecting buildings, for
sale, within the corporate limits of the town ot Manchester,
in the county of Chesterfield: and said) company may take
deeds of trust on any lands, on which it may erect buildings,
for an amount not exceeding the value of said buildings: and
shall have all the powers, rights and privileges conferred on
such bodies politic and corporate and corporations generally,
and shall be subject to all the rules, regulations and restric-
tions imposed by the Code of Virginia, so tur as they are
applicable and not inconsistent with this act.
2. That the capital stock of said company shall not be less
than five thousand dollars nor more than two hundred thou-
sand dollars. to be divided into shares ot one hundred dollars
eavh: and the said company shall be controlled and governed
by its own by-laws, rules and regulations, which shall not be
inconsistent with the Code of Vir einia.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage, and shall be
subject to amendment, moditication, alteration and repeal, at
the pleasure of the general assembly.
