Chap. 166, —ht ACT to authorize the Common Comned of Winehester to
borrow Money,
Passed February 26, 160.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the presi-
dent and common council of the corporation of Winchester,
in the county of Frederick, be and they are hereby autho-
rized and empowered to borrow such sum or sums of money
as they may deem requisite, not exceeding twenty thousand
dollars, and at an interest not exceeding eight per centum per
annum, for the necessary uses of said corporation: and that
the said president and common council be and they are hereby
empowered to issue either registered or coupon bonds, in
the name of the mayor and commonalty of the town of
Winchester, for such sums as may be borrowed, and pledge
the funds and property of said corporation for the payment
of the principal and interest.
2. That all acts and parts of acts, inconsistent with the
provisions of this act, be and the same are hereby repealed.
3. This act shall commence and be in force from and after
the passage thereof.
