Chap. 144.—An ACT declaring the Standard of a Cord Measure.
Pasecd February 15, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That a cord
contains one hundred and twenty-cight cubic feet, being eight
feet long, four feet high and four feet wide, or the equivalent
thereof: ‘and that in all measurements of wood, tanbark, or
other things subject to such measurements, the foregoing
shall be the true and legal standard: any usage, by-law or
ordinance of any corporation, railroad or other company, to
the contrary notwithstanding.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage. .
