Chap. 126.—An ACT authorizing the Board of Pulblie Works to sell the
State’s Interest in the Petomae Bridge Compuny,
Passed February 21, 1855.
Whereas the whole wooden superstructure of the bridge
over the Potomac river, near the Point of Rocks, was burnt
in cighteen hundred and sixty-one, trom one shore of the
river to the other: and whereas there is no prospect of
rebuilding said bridge within any reasonable time, and no
yrospect ‘of the state receiv ing any revenue from said bridge:
Thercetore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the board
of public works be and they are hereby instructed to sell,
elther publicly or privately, and upon such terms as to them
shall seem best, the interest of the state of Virginia in the
Potomac bridge company.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage
