Chap. 122.—An ACT to require the Railroad Companies of Virginia to
have their Ticket Offices and Cars open one hour before the departure
of every Passenver Train.
. Passed February 23, 1866.
1, Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
the duty of the railroad companies in this state to have their
ticket offices opened, and their agents for the sale of tickets
in attendance, and at the termini of such roads, the passenger
cars open for the admission of passengers, and baggage cars
open for the reception of baggage, at least one hour before
the advertised hour of departure of every passenger train.
Any railroad company failing or refusing to comply with this
act, shall be lable to a fine of not less than fity nor more
‘than five hundred dollars for every such failure or refusal; to
be recovered, for the benefit of the commonwealth, by mo-
tion, after ten days’ notice to the president or superintendent
of such road, in the circuit, or county or corporation court of
the county, city or town wherein the depot of such railroad
is situated.
2." This act shall be in force from its passage.
