Chap. 121.—An ACT to ratify and confirm an Ordinance of the State of
North Carolina, entitled an Ordinance to tneorporate the Piedinont Rail-
road Company, passed February &th, 1862.
Passed December 15, 1£65.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the ordl-
nance of the state of North Carclina, entitled an ordinance
to incorporate the Piedmont railroad company, passed in
open convention of the state of North Carolina, on the
eighth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and
sixty-two, and ratified by the loyal convention of the state
of North Carolina during the present year (one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-five), be and the same is hereby
sanctioned and confirmed; and all acts of the said Piedmont
railroad company, in constructing their road within the limits
of the state of Virginia, under the provisions of the ordinance
aforesaid, are hereby ratified and approved: provided, that
the said Piedmont railroad company shall not have power to
discriminate, on either freight or travel, against the Rich-
mond and Danville railroad, or any other railroad company
in Virginia, connected therewith. |
2. Be it further enacted, That the Piedmont railroad com-
pany (by and with the assent of the legislature of the state
of North Carolina) is hereby authorized to alter the gauge of
its road, so as to make it conform to that of the Richinend
and Danville railroad.
3. This act shall be in foree from its passage.
