Chap. 115.—An ACT requiring the Superintendent of the Penitentiary
to keep a Record of Conduct of Prisoners.
Passed February 28, 1866.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
the duty of the superintendent of the penitentiary to keep a
record of the conduct of each convict, and for every month
that a convict appears by such record to have faithfully ob-
served the rules and requirements of the prison, and not to
have been subjected to punishment, there shall, with the con-
sent of the governor, be deducted, from the term of service
of such convict, four days.
2, That the superintendent shall submit said record and
deduction to the governor, when required by bim, that the
same may be considered in. the exercise of such executive
clemency on behalf of any convict as he may deem conducive
to the interest of the prison, and promotive of the reforma-
tion and welfare of the convicts.
3. That the superintendent shall cause & copy of this act
to re posted in the cell of each convict.
. This act shall be in force trom its passage.
