Chap. 112.—An ACT authorizing the Governor to lease out the Armory
Grounds, and provide Barracks for the Public Guard. &e.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That it shall be
lawful for the governor to lcase, for a term of years, that
part of the armory grounds now occupied by R. Archer, R.
Ss. Archer and A. D. Townes, for manufacturing purposes, on
such terms as may be agreed upon. for a term not exceeding
ten years.
2. The governor may, iv his discretion, have repaired a
suitable building, to he used as barracks for the public guard ;
and it shall be the duty of the commandant of the public
guard to take good care of the armory grounds, as directed
in the nineteenth section of chapter thirty-three of the Code,
(edition of eighteen hundred and sixty).
3. Be it further enacted, That the twenty-third, twenty-
fourth, twenty-fifth, twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh, twenty-
eichth, twenty-ninth and thirticth sections of chapter thirty-
three of the Code (edition of eighteen hundred and sixty)
be and the same are hereby repealed. :
+. Beit further enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
covernor to cause to be sold such materials at the armory as
are not necessary for use, consisting of iron, steel, and so
forth; the money arising from such sale to be paid into the
public treasury: and the governor is also authorized to lease
any portion of the armory grounds or water power, not
wanted for the use of the government, for a term not ex-
ceeding one year.
% This act shall be in force from its passage.
