Chap. 103.—An ACT amending the Tth section, chapter 165. as amended
by act of February 8, 1865, concerning Compensation of Common-
wealth’s Attorneys,
Pawed February 27, 1800.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the seventh
section of chapter one hundred and sixty-five of the Code of
Virginia (edition of eighteen hundred and sixty). as amended
hy the act passed February third, eighteen hundred and sixty-
three, be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows
“$7. Such attorney, in any county or corporation court,
shall be allowed by the court such sum as it deems reason-
able, for public services (for which no other fee or reward is
allowed by Jaw); which shall be chargeable to such county or
corporation; and in a cireuit court, shall be allowed by it,
where the attorney has no annual salary, such sum as it deems
reasonable, not exceeding ten dollars for every case of felony,
and five dollars for ev ery case of misdemeanor prosecuted
and tried in said circuit court, or in which there may be a
judement for the commonwealth; in addition to which, the
attorney for the circuit court of Richmond city shall here-
after receive, annually, the sum of two hundred and _ fifty
dollars, and the attorney for the circuit courts of the county
and city of Norfolk shall hereafter reecive, annually, the sum
of seventy-five dollars; and the attorney for each of the
other circuit courts shall hercatter receive, annually, the sum
of fifty dollars.”:
2.) ‘This act shall be in force from its passage,
