Chap. 92.—An ACT for the relief of Bethel Presbyterian church, Shem-
ariah Presbyterian church, and St. John’s German Reform church in
Augusta county.

Whereas Bethel Presbyterian church, Shemariah Presby-
terian church, and Saint John’s German Reformed church in
Augusta county, have paid taxes on their church property
from the year eighteen hundred and eighty-two to the year
eighteen hundred and eighty-five inclusive; and whereas
such property was exempt from taxation under the laws of
this state,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby instructed
to refund to the board of trustces of each of the churches,
namely: Bethel Presbyterian church nineteen dollars and
eighty-two cents, Shemariah Presbyterian church six dollars
and sixty-four cents, and Saint John’s German Reform church
eight dollars, in Augusta county, on account of state taxes
erroneously paid by them into the state treasury.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
