Chap. 84.—An ACT granting a loan of arms of the state to the princi-
pal of Marion High school in the county of Smyth.

Approved February 3, 1888.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the governor be and he is hereby authorized, if not incom-
patible with the public welfare, to loan to the principal of
Marion High school in Smyth county, Virginia, fifty Austrian
rifles or muskets, three commissioned and four non-commis-
sioned officers’ swords and cartridge boxes and bayonets,
scabbards for the guns for the use in military exercises of the
pupils of said schools, upon his giving bond with good secu-
rity for the proper care of such arms and their return to the
state in good condition when therejo required by the gov-
ernor.

2, This act shall be in force from its passage.
