Chap. 483.—An ACT to extend the time of settlement for John C.
Gray, treasurer of Washington county.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and in-
structed to suspend legal proceedings on the bond and to
give six months additional time to John C. Gray, late treas-
urer of Washington county, to make settlement of judgment,
and for balance due the commonwealth, for which judgment
has not been taken: provided, that John C. Gray and his
sureties shall confess judgment in the circuit court of Rich-
mond city, within sixty days, for the balance due by said
John C. Gray, for which judgment has not been taken.
2. This act shall take effect so soon as the sureties of said
John C. Gray, late treasurer of Washington county, shall, in
writing, accept and consent to the provisions of this act, and
file their consent and acceptance thereof with the auditor of
public accounts.
