Chap. 46.—An ACT to empower the auditor to issue a duplicate of
warrant No. 8786.

Whereas it appears that heretofore on June second, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-seven, a warrant, to-wit: number
eight thousand seven hundred and eighty-six was drawn by
the auditor of public accounts on the treasurer of Virginia for
sixty dollars, payable at Planters national bank in favor of
David Peters, a disabled soldier; and whereas it appears that
this warrant was forwarded to the said David Peters by the
said auditor at the post-office of Silver Leaf in the county of
Floyd; and whereas it is represented that this warrant has
been lost and has never been paid by the commonwealth of
Virginia gterecented for payment; now therefore,
1. Be it enacted, That upon the production of evidence.
satisfactory to the auditor of public accounts that warrant.
number eight thousand seven hundred and eighty-six for
sixty dollars, dated June second, eighteen hundred and eighty-
seven, has been lost and failed to reach its proper recipient,
the said auditor is hereby authorized to issue a duplicate of
said warrant in favor of said Peters: provided, that the audi-
tor shall take from the said David Peters a bond of indemnity
with proper security to save the commonwealth harmless.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage. ,
