Chap. 416.—An ACT extending the time for collecting taxes to James
A. Tilman, late treasurer of Powhatan county.

Whereas James A. Tilman, late treasurer of Powhatan
county, Virginia, has in his hands various tickets for taxes
and levies, both state and county, for the years eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-two, eighteen hundred and eighty-three, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-four, eighteen hundred and eighty-
five, and eighteen hundred and eighty-six, and said tickets
having been paid by said treasurer, and remain uncollected;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
authority is hereby given James A. Tilman, late treasurer,
and his deputies as aforesaid, to collect the amount due upon
said tickets for taxes and levies, and he and his deputies shall
have the same power to levy and distrain for the same that
treasurers now possess under the revenue laws; and that the
power be extended for the period of one year from the pas-
sage of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
