Chap. 312.—An ACT to authorize the auditor of public accounts to
reissue to J. S. Frence, a warrant heretofore issued to W. W. French,
and returned to the auditor.
Approved March 1, 1888.
Whereas a warrant dated February seventeenth, eighteen
hundred and eighty-six, was issued by the auditor of public
accounts to William W. French, a disabled Confederate
soldier, under the act of the general assembly, approved
February fifth, eighteen hundred and eighty-six; and before
the said warrant was received, the said William W. French
died, unmarried and without children, and the said warrant
was returned to the auditor and the money covered into the
treasury May eighteenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-six;
and whereas the said William W. French for years had been
a charge upon his father, John 8. French, who was a poor
man dependent upon his own labor for a living, and that he
also bore his funeral expenses; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be hereby authorized to draw
his warrant on the treasury for sixty dollars in favor of John
S. French, in lieu of warrant number five thousand two hun-
dred and seventy-seven, heretofore issued to W. W. French.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
