‘Chap. 232.—An ACT to provide compensation to A. Theo. Powell for
the prosecution of H. R. Puryear.
Approved February 24, 1888.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to draw his warrant upon the treasurer for one
hundred dollars, payable out of any money in the treasury
not otherwise appropriated, in favor of A. Tho. Powell, of
Dinwiddie county, as compensation for services as common-
wealth’s attorney in the prosecution of H. R. Puryear in the
circuit court of Prince George county for the murder of his
wife by poison.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
