Chap. 229.—An ACT to incorporate the Game Point association.
Approved February 24, 1888,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
John W. Gill, Barton H. Grundy, W. Miles Cary, John Cus-
sons, John Adam, W. Benjamin Palmer, A. Osterloh, and
Henry C. Jones, and such other persons as may hereafter be
associated with them, shall be and they are hereby consti-
» tuted a body corporate under the name and style of the Game
Point association. The said association may contract and be
contracted with, sue and be sued, and may generally do all
such acts as may be necessary for the purposes for which it
is organized, and shall have all the rights and privileges of a
corporation, and be subject to all the rules and regulations in
relation to joint stock companies, so far as they are applica-
ble and not inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
2. The capital stock of the said association shall not be
less es opp thousand dollars nor more,than twenty thou-

sand dollars, to be divided into shares of one hundred dollars
each, which shall be paid in such instalments as shall be re-
quired by the by-laws of the said association.
3. The said association shall be authorized to do all law- '
ful acts for the promotion of the increase of game and fish in.
this commonwealth, and in the waters thereof; and for the '
enforcement of the game and fish laws of this state, and shall
be authorized to grant rewards, payable out of its own funds,
for the destruction of hawks and other birds injurious to
game, and for the conviction of persons violating the laws
relating to the protection of game and fish.
4. The said association may hold and own so much real
estate as may be necessary and desirable for its uses, not
exceeding one-tenth of an acre in the city of Richmond, and
not exceeding eight hundred acres in the county of Stafford,
Virginia, and it may own and operate such boats, skiffs, and
other lawful contrivances as may be desired by it in order to
enable the members of the said association to fish, shoot and
fowl in any of the, waters of this commonwealth. The mem-
bers of the said association shall be authorized to fish, shoot
and fowl and in any of the waters of the commonwealth, but
subject to the restrictions in regard thereto contained in the
general laws on such subjects.
5. The officers of the said association shall be a president,
a secretary, who shall also be the treasurer, and five direc-
tors. The president and secretary are to be among the num-
ber of the five directors, all of whom are to be elected by the
stockholders in their annual meeting. The annual meeting.
shall be held at such time as the stockholders shall appoint,
but until they shall appoint another day, it shall be held on
the first Monday in October in each year, and the principal
office of the association shall be kept in the city of Rich-
mond. Until the stockholders shall otherwise direct by an
election, the following persons shall constitute the officers of
the said association, to-wit: John W. Gill, president; W.
Benjamin Palmer, secretary and treasurer; and said John W.
Gill, W. Benjamin Palmer, W. Miles Cary, Barton H. Grundy,
and Henry C. Jones, directors.
6. The said association, which shall not consist of more
than twenty members at one time, may make such by-laws
for the government of the same as may be consistent with
the laws of the state of Virginia, and the objects of the asso-
ciation, and for the more effectually carrying out the pur-
poses of the said association, it may provide rules regulating
the admission of new members into the said association, and
prescribing the terms upon which the stock therein owned
y any member shall be transferred, and no member shall
hold less than four shares of the stock.
7. This act shall be in force from its passage.
