Chap. 195.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 848 of chapter 86,
Code of Virginia of 1887, relating to the duties and compensation of
district officers.
Code of Virginia of eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, in
relation to the duties and compensation of district officers, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 848. The board of supervisors of every county shall, at
the expense of the county, provide suitable books and sta-
tionery for the use of the clerk of their board, the clerk of
the county, ot the county court, county treasurer, and the
clerk of the circuit court, together with appropriate cases
and other furniture for the safe and convenient keeping of
all the books, documents, and papers belonging to each of
said officers, and fuel for said clerks and treasurers’ offices;
and also official seals for each of said officers when the same
are required by law.
2. This act shall be in force from and after May first, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-eight.
