Chap. 176.—An ACT to authorize the trustees of the Pisgah M. E.
Church, south, in the county of Tazewell, to sell and convey their
church property.
Approved February 23, 1888.
It being represented to the general assembly that by rea-
son of the location of the Clinch Valley Division of the Nor-
folk and Western railroad through the property of the Pisgah
Methodist Episcopal church, south, in the county of Taze-
well, that the said church is rendered useless for the pur-
poses for which it was intended, and that the congregation
worshipping there is desirous to sell said church property, and
re-invest the proceeds arising from such sale in a new site
and in the erection of a new building; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the trustees, or the survivors of them, of the Pisgah Metho-
dist Episcopal church, south, in the county of Tazewell, be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to sell and
convey the lot of land and the building thereon, belonging to
said church, and to re-invest the proceeds arising from such
sale in other church property, to be held by the said trustees
for the same purposes as the property, they are hereby
authorized to sell, is now held by them.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
