county to borrow money for the purpose of enlarging the clerk’s
office of said county, and for other purposes.
Approved January 18, 1888.
Whereas, the county of Roanoke is indebted to the amount
of eight thousand dollars for money contracted to be paid in
excess of its levies for the opening of new roads, repairing

man of said board and countersigned by its clerk; each bond to
be for the sum of five hundred dollars, to bear interest at a rate |
not exceeding six per centum per annum, payable semi-annual-
ly on the first day of February and first day of August of each
ear. Said bonds to be either coupon or registered, as said
oard may determine. The first two of said bonds, amount-
ing to one thousand dollars, shall be payable on the first day
of August, eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, and two pay-
able on the first day of August each year thereafter until all
are paid. And the gaid board of supervisors shall annually
