Chap. 144.—An ACT extending the time to Thomas Waller, late treas-
urer of Stafford county, for the collection and settlement of certain
taxes and levies.
Approved February 18, 1888.
Whereas Thomas Waller, late treasurer of Stafford county,
has in his hands various tickets for taxes due the state for the
years eighteen hundred and eighty-four, eighteen hundred
and eighty-five, and eighteen hundred and eighty-six, and
said tickets remain uncollected; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
authority is hereby given said Thomas Waller, late treasurer
as aforesaid, to collect the amounts due upon said tickets for
taxes, and he shall have the power of levy and distress for
the same that treasurers now possess under the revenue laws,
and that the power be extended for the period of one year
from the passage of this act in which to collect and account
for the same.
2. And the right is hereby given said Thomas Waller, late
treasurer as aforesaid, to collect all tickets for taxes and levies
for the two years preceding eighteen hundred and eighty-
four, and for which he bas already settled with the state and
county, and he shall have the same power of distress and levy
as is provided in the preceding section, and said power is
rn extended from one year from the passage of this act.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
