Chap. 98.—JOINT RESOLUTIONS prohibiting the granting of licen-
ses for the transaction of any business or the pursuit of any occu-
mation or profession, or the enjoyment of any privilege for which
fieehae | is required by law fora longer period than from the date
of the issuance of such license to the Ist day of June, 1887, and
prescribing the amount to be paid for such licenses.

1, Resolved (the house of delegates concurring), That for
the transaction of any business or the pursuit of any occu-
pation or profession, or the enjoyment of any privilege for
the transaction, pursuit, or enjoyment of which license is re-
quired by law, no license shall be granted for a longer period
than from the date of the issuance of such license to the first
day of June, cighteen hundred and eighty-seven; but this
shall not affect any license already actually granted which is
to take effect from the first day of May, viehteen bundred
and eighty-seven. In all other respects licenses shall be re-
quire ed under the same penalties, and granted as now pro-
vided by Jaw; but this shall not be construed as authorizing
the granting in counties, Corporations, or mayisterial districts
of licenses which may not now be lawfully wranted therein.

2. The amount to be paid by every applicant for license
under this resolution, shall be one twelfth of the amount
which such applicant would be required to pay but for the
passave of this resolution. But this resolution shall not be
construed as repealing or amending, except as hereinbefore
provided, the revenue laws of this commonwealth,

3. The fees and charges to be paid in obtaining licenses
shall be as heretofore; bat when license has been ranted to
any person fora period not exceeding one month, such per-
son shall not be required to pay further fees and charyes for
the renewal of such license at any time prior to May first,
Cigna hundred and eighty -cight.
