Chap. 65.—An ACT to legalize certain acts and proceedings of the
board of supervisors of the county of Issex.
Approved April 11, 1887,
Whereas itis represented to the general assembly that the
acts and proceedings of the board of supervisors of the
county of Essex, from December fifteenth, eighteen bundred
and seventy-three, to June twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred
and eehty three, inclusive e, although regularly drawn up and
entered by the clerk thereof in the record book provided tor
that purpose, have never been signed by the chairman thereof,
who has since died; and whereas doubts have been sugeested
as to whether the said acts and proceedings of said “board
during the period aforesaid, are legal and valid by reason of
their not being signed as aforesaid ; now, therefore, for the
purpose of settling such doubts,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
all acts, transactions, proceedings, contracts, and agreements
done, transacted, and entered into by the aforesaid board
during the period aforesaid, not inconsistent with the laws
of this State, shall, upon being signed and attested by the
clerk thereof, be held and taken to bé and to have been, at
all times, of the same force. virtue, and effect, and shall be as
binding and valid to all intents and purposes as if the chair-
man of said board had signed the same.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
