Chap. 383.—An ACT to define the name and amend the charter of the
Big Quarry slate company.
Approved May 23, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the article “the” preceding the words “Big Quarry slate
company” as they occur in the first section of the act of Feb-
ruary fourth, eighteen hundred and eighty-two, incorpora-
ting said company, shall not hereafter be regarded as em-
braced in or constituting a part of the name of said corpora-
tion, but its name shall be simply “Big Quarry slate com-
any.”
P 2. Be it further enacted, That the third section of said act
of incorporation is hereby amended and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:
§ 3. The principal office of said company shall be in the
State of Virginia, and it may establish offices and agencies
for the sale of its products in any county, town, or city in
this or other States. The power to purchase and hold slate
and mineral lands conferred by its charter shall be construed
to authorize it to exercise al] the dominion over said real
estate to which a natural person is entitled, including the
power to lease out any part of its real estate, for a money
rent, upon a royalty, or otherwise as it may deem best.
3. ‘This act shall be in force from its passage.
