Chap. 314.—An ACT to authorize the auditor to credit David A.
French, treasurer of Giles county, with lost school warrants.

1. Beit enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
upon the production of evidence satisfactory to the auditor
public accounts, that school warrant number two thousand
and seventy-one, for three thousand one hundred and forty
dollars and seventy-seven cents, dated the twenty-second of
December, eighteen hundred and eighty-one, for the county
of Giles, has been lost, and that the amount of said warrant
has been paid in full by the treasurer of said county upon
orders of the proper school authorities of said county, the
said auditor is hereby authorized to credit said treasurer with
the same from the date it was issued: provided that the said
auditor shall take from the said treasurer a bond of indemnity
with proper security for four thousand dollars to save the
commonwealth harmless.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
