Chap. 281.—An ACT to foster the culture of Black Bass fish in James
river.
Approved May 18, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be unlawful to take from the waters of the James
river by means of dip nets, the fish known as Black Bass, for
the period ot two years from the passage of this act. Any
person violating this law shall be deemed guilty of a misde-
meanor, and upon conviction before a justice of the peace, or
any other court of competent jurisdiction, be fined not less
than ten nor more than fifty dollars for each offence.
2. This act shall be in force from its passaye.
