Chap. 227.—An ACT to authorize the Tennessee and North Carolina
railroad company in this State, to construct its road to any mines
in Washington, Smythe, and Gravson counties, and to issue and use
its stocks and bonds in payment tor rights of way, work, materials,
and supplies by contract.
Approved May 14, 1887.
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the Tennessee and North Carolina rail-
road company, incorporated by an act approved the sixteenth
day of February, cightcen hundred and eighty-six, to begin
at any time within two years, and construct within three
years thereafter, its road to any mines of iron ore, man-
ganese, marble, plaster, or other mineral substances in Wash-
ington, Smy the, or Grayson counties, and to any site sclected
for furnaces or manufactories in any of said counties, with all
the rights, powers, and privileges of the original char ter; and
that in contracting for the construction of any and all parts
of its said railroad, it shall be lawful for said company with-
out the formality of advertising the opening of its books of
subscription, to issue its stock within the limitations of’ its
charter as to amount per mile of road it may construct, and
use and deliver the same by contract at such price as ‘may
be agreed on, in payment for rights of way, labor, supplics,
and materials in the construction and operation of its road.
2. This act shall be in force trom its passage.
