Chap. 20.—An ACT to authorize the Lynchburg, Halifax and North
Carolina railroad company to consolidate with the Roxboro’ rail-
road company, the Durham and Roxboro’ railroad company, and
any other railroad company in the State of North Carolina.
Approved March 20, 1887.
1. Beit enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
the Lynchburg, Halifax and North Carolina railroad com-
pany be, and is hereby authorized and empowered to consoli-
date and to form one company with the Roxboro’ railroad
company, the Durbam and Roxboro’ railroad company, and
any other railroad company in the State of North Carolina,
under the name of the Lynchburg and Durham railroad
company.
2. The terms of said consolidation shall be such as may be
agreed upon, approved, and ratified by the stockholders of
ach of the companies so consolidated: provided, said terms
are not inconsistent with the general laws of the States of
Virginia and North Carolina.
3. When said consolidation is duly effected under this act,
the said Lynchburg and Durham railroad company shall be
substituted to all the property, rights, privileges, and fran-
chises of the Liynehbury, Halifax and North Curolina railroad
company, and shall be operated under its charter, as modified
by this act, and shall assume and be responsible for all its
contracts, liabilities, obligations, and undertakings as though
the same had been made by and under the name of the Ly ncb-
burg and Durham railroad company.
4, This act sball be in force from its passage.
