Chap. 169.—An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 2, 5, and 7 of an
act incorporating the Petersburg and Chesterfield railroad company,
Approved May 6, 1887.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
sections two, five, and seven of an act approved March seven.
teenth, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, be amended and
re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§2. The said company may construct and operate a rail.
road from Petersburg to Exeter mills, in the county of Ches.
terfield, by way of Matoaca, or any point on the Brighthope
railway, in the county of Chesterfield, and the company may
connect with one or more railroad companies entering the
city of Petersburg.
§5. It shall be lawful for the Petersburg and Chesterfield
railroad company to issue bonds for an amount not exceeding
twenty-five thousand dollars per mile of single track, and tc
secure payment of the interest and principal of the same by
& mortgage or deed of trust upon the property, franchises.
and so forth.
§7. That work on the Petersburg and Chesterfield railroad
shall be commenced within three years and completed within
ten years from March first, eizhteen hundred and eighty-seven
