Chap. 149.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the tenth section of an
act approved February 20, 1886, entitled an act to incorporate the
town of Broadway, in the county of Rockingham, and to repeal
chapter 246 of the Acts of 1879-80. approved March 9, [8s0, entitled
an act to incorporate the town of Broadway, in Rockingham county.

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the tenth section of an act, approved February twentieth,
eighteen hundred and eighty-six, entitled an act to incorpo-
rate the town of Broadway, in the city of Rockingham, and
to repeal chapter two hundred and forty-six of the Acts of
eighteen hundred and seventy-nine-eighty, approved March
nine, eighteen hundred an eighty, entitled an act to incorpo-
rate the town of Broadway, in Rockingham county, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 10. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the following are hereby declared to be the boundarics
of the said town of Broadway: Beginning at the peninsula
at the junction of Linville creek with the Shenandoah river;
thence in a westerly direction up the said river, along the
east bank, to ‘the mouth of the spring branch, where the
lands of J. L. Winficld, P. Shearer, and Sarah EK. Thomas
corner; thence in a southerly direction between the line of
P. Shearer and Sarah KE. Thomas, to the public road, west
side thereof; thence crossing said road to east side thereof;
thence with the line of Sarah K. Thomas, in a southerly di-
rection to the west side of Linville creek, crossing said creek,
and with the eastern bank of said creek, in a south westerly
direction to the nearest point on the Kline lands, west of
Early’s mill; thence easterly, with the division line between
the lands of 8S. H. Early and the lots recently sold by J. Q.
Winfield, to the lands of M. B. E. Kline, including the street
laid off and lots thereon sold by said M. B. E. Kline, on the
western part of his said lands; thence with the eastern
boundary of said Kline lots and street, in a northerly diree-
tion, to the lot of E. B. Knipple, southwestern corner thereof;
thence, continuing with the line of said M. B. E. Kline, east
and north, around the lot of said Knipple and the lot owned
by the heirs of Mrs. John Moore; thence in a northerly di-
rection, with the line between the lands of Elizabeth Rader
and Willism Minnick, to the public road, north side thereof;
thence with said public road east, to the foot of Rader’s hill,
west side thereof; thence with the line between the lands of
W. Liggett and L. Winfield, to the end of the fence at the
corner of the ficids on said line; thence northerly ina straight
line to the beginning.
2. This act shall be in force from its passayve.
