Chap. 144.—An ACT to allow Edwin T. Melvin and others to erect a
wharf at Franklin city, Accomack county, Virginia.
Approved May 6, 1887.
1. Beit enacted by the gencral assembly of Virginia, That
Edwin T. Melvin, Frank J. Melvin, and Peter R. W. Collins,
of Accomack county, Virginia, and Milby Hancock, of Wor-
cester county, Maryland, be and they are hereby authorized
and permitted to erect a whart at Franklin city, Accomack
county, Virginia, in Chincoteague bay, for the purpose of
shipping oysters and any other ‘eumrmnentitivs to and from the
same for themselves and others; starting at the front south-
east corner of William H. Ellis’ line, extending in about a
southeast direction along the line of the Deleware, Maryland
and Virginia railroad, a distance of thirty-tive feet, to the
line of Ezra K. Young and sons, extending into Chincoteague
bay four hundred feet between parallel lines of thirty-five
feet; and the said Kdwin T. Melvin, Frank J. Melvin, Peter
R. W. Collins, and) Milby Ifancock, their heirs and assigns,
shall have the right to charge and collect such compensation
for the use of said whart as may have been agreed upon by
and between the parties, or as is usual: and provided also
that this act shall at all times be under the control of the
general assembly, and be amended or repealed as may be
deemed proper.
2. ‘This act shall be in force from its passage.
