Chap. 122.—An ACT to amend and re-enact the 3 section of an act
approved February 26, 1854, entitled an act to amend the charter of
the Edenton and Norfolk railroad company, and to change the name
of said company to that of the Carvlina and Chesapeake railroad
company.

1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the third section of an act entitled an act to amend the charter
of the Edenton and Norfolk railroad company, and to change
the name of said company to that of the Carolina and Chesa-
peake railroad company, approved February twenty-six, eigh-
teen hundred and eight: four, be and the same is hereby
amended and re-enacted 80 that the same shall read as follows:
§3. The said Carolina and Chesapeake railroad company
is hereby authorized to construct, equip, and operate its line
of road from any point on the North Carolina State line in
the county of Nansemond, to the city of Norfolk or the city
of Portsmouth, or to any point on the Elizabeth or Nanse-
mond rivers, or any of the branches thereof: provided that
the construction of said road shall be commenced within two
years and completed within four years from the passage of
this act.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
