Chap. 9.—An ACT to appropriate certain moneys to meet a note given by
the board of Eastern Lunatic Asylum to raise funds to rebuild certain
buildings destroyed by fire on the 7th day of June, 1885.

Whereas a large portion of the buildings of the Eastern
lunatic asylum, at Williamebur , were destroyed by fire on the
seventh day of June, eighteen hundred and eighty-five, and it
became necessary to provide at once for the accommodation of
the inmates; and the board of directors of said asylum, by and
with the consent of the governor, raised, upon their note, the
sum of thirty thousand three hundred dollars, which sum has
been expended in the erection of suitable buildings for the
accommodation of inmates of said asylum, and which note will
fall due on the twenty-second day of January, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-six: therefore
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the sum of thirty thousand three hundred dollars be and the
same is hereby appropriated to pay off said note at maturity. -
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
