Chap. 66.—An ACT to incorporate the Madison Courthouse and
Gordonsville Telephone Company.
Approved February 1, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
ohn W. Taylor, W. J. Cave, R. S. Thomas, William E. Way-
and, Joel Haines, O. P. Embrey and B. T. Yager, or such of
them as may accept the provisions of this act, and such per-
sons as may be associated with themyshall be and they are
hereby constituted a body politic and corporate, by the name
of the Madison Courthouse and Gordonsville Telephone Com-
pany, and by that name shall have all the powers, rights and
franchises necessary and proper to locate, construct and main-
tain a telephone line from Madison Courthouse to Gordonsville,
along the line of the Blue Ridge road, leading from Madison
Courthouse to Gordonsville. and to establish stations at any
point deemed necessary between the aforesaid places.
2. The stock of the said corporation shall consist of not more
than fifty shares, at the par value of ten dollars each, payable
at such time as the board of directors may prescribe.
3. There shall be a meeting of the said corporation, at such
a place, and on such day after the passage of this act, as the
above named persons or a majority of them shall appoint, for
the purpose of choosing such officers as they may deem pro-
per, to manage the affairs of the said corporation for one year
thereafter, and until a new election shall take place and their
successors are qualified.
4. The said corporation shall have the power to make a rea-
sonable charge for the use of their line.
5. This act shall be in force from its passage.
