Chap. 59.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 7, of chapter 159,
Acts of 1883-4, entitled an act to incorporate the town of Green-
ville, Augusta county. Approved February 25, 1884.
Approved January 29, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section seven of chapter one hundred and fifty-nine, Acts of
eighteen hundred and eighty-three and eighteen hundred and
eighty-four, entitled an act to incorporate the town of Green-
ville, Augusta county, approved February twenty-five, eighteen
hundred and eighty-four, be amended and re- -enacted so as to
read as follows:
$7. Any person applying to the eounty court of Augusta
for license to sell liquor of any kind, either as the keeper of a
bar-room, wholesale or retail liquor dealer, within the corpo-
rate limits of said town of Greenville, Augusta county, or
within one mile of the limits of said corporation, shall produce
before the court of said county, a certificate of the council of
said town, signed by a majority of the council, to the effect
that the applicant is a suitable person, and that no good reason
is known why said license should not be granted. And the
court having jurisdiction shall not grant any license to sell
liquor within the limits above described until, and unless, such
certificate be given.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
