Chap. 57.—An ACT to relieve William H. Cole, of Halifax county,
from the payment of license tax. ,
Approved January 29, 1886.
Whereas it is represented by a number of credible citizens of
Halifax county, that William H. Cole, of that county, a blind
man, having a wife and three children, and without means of
support for himself and them, except by his own efforts, which
he and his friends think can best be applied in vending articles
of merchandise, and books, and so forth, if he can be relieved
from the payment of the license tax required by law, and this
being considered a reasonable exemption for one in such a case;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
William H. Cole, of Halifax county, be and he is hereby ex-
empted from the payment of the license tax imposed by law
for the privilege of peddling articles of merchandise, and so
forth, in said county of Halifax, and elsewhere, in this State.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
