CHAP. 454.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 7, of an act ap-
proved March 29, 1873, entitled an act to incorporate the Danville
and New River Narrow-Gauge railroad, and to add sections 8 and
9 thereto.

. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section seven, of an act approved March twenty-ninth, eighteen
hundred and seventy-three, entitled an act to incorporate the
Danville and New River Narrow- Gauge railroad, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows, and that sections eight
and nine be added and enacted thereto as follows:
§7. The said company shall have power to cross at grade, or
above or below grade, to unite or connect with any line of rail-
road now constructed, or that may be constructed in the state,
or may acquire by lease or purchase any line of railroad now
constructed, or that may be constructed in the states of Virginia
or North Carolina, or may consolidate its stocks, franchises
and property with the Henry and Roanoke railroad company,
and shall have power to make all contracts necessary for carry-
ing out the provisions of this section.
8. It shall have power to change its gauge from a narrow-
gauge to a standard or broad gauge, as shall seem to it proper.
§ 9. This act shall be in force from its passage.
