CHAP. 439.—An ACT to vest the State’s interest in Vick’s church, in
Southampton county, in trustees, for the use and benefit of the
Methodist Episcopal Church, South.
Approved March 6, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
all the commonwealth’s interest in and title to the old colonial
church property known as Vick’s church, and the lands thereto
belonging, situated in Newson’s magisterial district, about one
mile from Newson’s station on the Seaboard and Roanoke rail-
road in Southampton county, Virginia, and bounded by the
lands of Maxey Story, James Cogsdale and James J. Darden,
be and the same is hereby vested in James J. Darden, Benja-
min J. Bryant, A. D. Bryant and Caleb Everett, trustees, and
their successors in office, in trust for the use and benefit of the
ministry and membership of. the Methodist Episcopal church
south.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
