CHAP. 322.—An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 2 and 3 of an
act passed January 15, 1867, entitled an act to establish and incorpo-
rate the Augusta county fair, as amended by an act approved Janu-
ary 20, 1874, changing the name to the Baldwin Augusta fair.
Approved March 1, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
sections two and three of an act passed January fifteenth, eight-
een hundred and sixty-seven, entitled an act to establish and
incorporate the Augusta county fair, as amended by an act ap-
proved January twentieth, eighteen hundred and seventy-four,
changing the corporate name to the Baldwin- Augusta fair, be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 2. The directory so appointed shall be a corporation by
the name of Baldwin District Fair Association, for the purpose
of establishing and conducting fairs and other exhibitions of
natural and industrial products of Augusta and adjacent counties,
as a means of developing their resources and promoting enter-
prise, industry, economy and thrift among their people.
§ 3. The directory shall, from their own number, choose a
president of the corporation. They shall annually elect one
vice president, who shall be a corporator from each county
represented in this association, who shall be a member of the
board of directors. They shall also appoint two corporators
who together with the vice-president shall constitute the local
executive committee for each county. They shall prescribe
rules whereby citizens of Augusta and adjacent counties, on
contributing one hundred dollars each to the permanent en-
dowment of the corporation, may become, for life, corporators
of the Baldwin District Fair Association.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
