Chap. 302.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 18 of an act ap-
proved March 7, 1884, entitled an act to amend and re-enact the
charter of the town of North Danville.
Approved March 1, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
section eighteen of an act approved on the seventh day of
March, eighteen hundred and. eighty-four, entitled an act to
amend and re-enact the charter of the town of North Danville,
as amended and re-enacted by an act approved on the twenty-
second day of November, eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
be amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 18. That the council of said town shall have the right, for
corporate purposes, to issue bonds to the amount of seven and
one-half per centum, and may, with the consent of the people,
expressed by a majority vote of the legally qualified voters of
the said corporation, ascertained by a special election to be
held in such manner as the council shall prescribe, subject to
the general law regulating special elections, issue bonds to the
amount of ten per centum, of the assessed value of the real
and personal property in said corporation, and pledge the
revenues of the said corporation for the payment thereof. The
said bonds shall bear interest at the rate of six per centum per
annum, payable semi-annually, and be redeemable in thirty
years or less.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
