Chap. 289.—An ACT for the relief of E. G. Edmunds, treasurer of
Fauquier county.
Approved March 1, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and that he is hereby directed
to allow E. G. Edmunds, treasurer of Fauquier county, a credit
in the settlement of his accounts, as treasurer, for the sum of
two thousand two hundred and eighteen dollars and thirty-two
cents, as of the date of January tenth, eighteen hundred and
eighty-five, that being the amount he had on deposit as treasu-
rer in the banking house of the late firm of Payne and Com-
pany, in Warrenton, Fauquier county, when said banking
house suspended: provided, that the auditor shall not allow
the said credit until the said Edmunds shall execute and deli-
ver to him an assignment to the commonwealth, properly exe-
cuted, of any dividend that may hereafter be declared to him
on account of said deposit by the assignees of the said firm of
Payne and Company.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
