Chap. 274.—An ACT for the relief of Wm. H. Talley.
Approved February 27, 1886.
Whereas, at the commencement of the late civil war, Wil-
liam H. Talley, then a youth, entered the army of the Con-
federate states; and whereas during said war he was wounded
three times, the last wound necessitating the amputation of his
right leg; and whereas since the close of said war he has been
a citizen and resident of Virginia, but debarred from receiving
the commutation money paid by the state to citizens of the
state who were such during the war and were wounded and
disabled; and whereas it is right and just that he should re-
ceive the same commutation money that is paid to other citi-
zens of the state who were wounded or disabled during said
war: now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be and he is hereby instructed
and directed to enter the name of the said William H. Talley
in class one, as prescribed by chapter one hundred and fifty-
two, Acts of eighteen hundred and eighty-three, eighty-four,
or by any similar act that may be passed, and pay to him the
same commutation that is paid to other wounded or disabled
soldiers coming under the purview of that act or acts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
