Chap. 26.—An ACT to amend and re-enact chapter 187, Acts of Extra
* Session, 1884, providing for a new registration of the voters of the city
of Richmond.
Approved January 16, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
chapter one hundred and eighty-seven, Acts of Extra Session,
eighteen hundred and eighty-four, approved December first,
eighteen hundred and eighty-four, be amended and re-enacted
so as to read as follows:
§ 1. It shall be lawful for the electoral board of the city of
Richmond, if they shall so determine by a vote of said board,
to order a new registration of the voters of said city, at such
time during the years eighteen hundred and eighty-six or eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-seven, as they may designate; and for
that purpose the several registrars of said city shall sit six
days, beginning at sunrise and closing at sunset on each day,
for the purpose of registering the duly-qualified voters of said
city ; and they shall in every respect be subject to and be gov-
erned by the general laws of the state in regard to the regis-
tration of voters.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
