Chap. 137.—An ACT authorizing the Governor to loan to the Staun-
ton Male Academy at Staunton, Virginia, and to the Fishburn Mili-
tary School at Waynesboro, arms.
Approved February 16, 1886.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the governor be and he is hereby authorized, if not incompati-
ble with the public welfare, to loan to the principal of the
Staunton Male academy, at Staunton, Virginia, one hundred
muskets or rifles, three commissioned and four non-contmis-
sioned officers’ swords, and bayonets with scabbards, and car-
tridge-boxes and belts for the same, for the use of the pupils
of said school; and he is hereby further authorized, if not in-
compatible with the public welfare, to loan to the principal of
the Fishburn Military school at Waynesboro, Augusta county,
Virginia, forty muskets or rifles, and bayonets with scabbards,
and cartridge boxes and belts for the same, for the use of the
pupils of said school: provided, however, that each of said
principals give bond, with good and sufficient security, for the
proper care of such arms, and their return to the state in good
condition, when required by the governor.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
