fale an amended list of delinquent land and property taxes for th:

year 1883.

Whereas, by reason of the illness and death of the commis.
sioner of the revenue for the county of Alleghany, the lanc
and property books for the year 1883 were not completed anc
delivered to the treasurer of said county until the first day o
July, 1884, so that the opportunity to make return of the de
linquent list within the time required by law was not given the
treasurer of said county: therefore—

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the treasurer of Alleghany county be allowed further time tc
make his returns of delinquent taxes and settlement with the
auditor of public accounts and with the board of supervisor:
of said county for the taxes assessed upon the real and per.
sonal property of said county. for the year eighteen hundrec
and eighty-three, and the time to make such settlement be ex-
tended to the first day of May, eighteen hundred and eighty.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
