Chap. 81.—An AOT for the relief of John McClure.

Whereas at the June, eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
term of the county court of Botetourt, John McClure was
fined the sum of one hundred and twenty-seven dollars and
fifteen cents, for alleged assault and battery; and whereas
the said fine is considered excessive ;

1. Be it therefore enacted by the general assembly of Vir,

inia, That thesaid John McClure, be and he hereby is released
rom the payment of said fine of one hundred and twenty-
seven dollars and fifteen cents imposed upon him by the
county court of Botetourt, for assault and battery at the
June, eighteen hundred and eighty-four, term of said court.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
