Chap. 131.—An ACT to authorize the county court of Rappahannock
to order an election in Wakefield district, in said county, to ascertain
the sense of the voters of said district upon the subscription to Fau-
quier and Rappahannock railroad.

Whereas at an election held in the county of Rappahan-
nock, upon the fourth day of November, eighteen hundred
and eighty-four, upon the question of subscribing by said
county the sum of one hundred thousand dollars to the Fau-
quier and Rappahannock railroad company, a poll was opened
and a vote had in all the magisterial districts of said county
except that.of Wakefield; therefore,
1, Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
it shall be lawful for the county court of Rappahannock
county, upon motion of a majority of the surviving commis-
sioners for Rappahannock county named in the act incorpo-
rating the Fauquier and Rappahannock railroad company,
adopted February twenty-first, eighteen hundred and eighty-
two, to order an election to be held in Wakefield magisterial
district, in said county, at such time as a majority of the
commissioners may designate, to- ascertain the sense of the
voters in said district upon the subscription to the Fauquier
and Rappahannock railroad company.
2. If it shall appear from the vote in said district, and
from the vote taken in the remainder of the county, upon the
fourth day of November, eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
that the voters in said county are in favor of said subscrip-
tion according to the provisions of the general law, the court
shall make the order required by section sixty-four of chapter
sixty-one of the Code of Virginia of eighteen hundred and
seventy-three.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
