Chap. 125.—An ACT granting relief to V. G. Dunnington, treasurer
- of Lynchburg, from certain judgments for costs under coupon pro-
ceedings against him.
Approved November 27, 1884.
Whereas in certain suits instituted in the circuit and cor-
poration courts of Lynchburg against V. G. Dunnington,
treasurer of said city, to compel the reception of coupons in
payment of taxes, judgments were rendered against said
treasurer for the costs of said suits, aggregating the sum of
three hundred and thirty-six dollars and five cents, which
have not been paid; and whereas said treasurer was obliged
by law to defend, and did defend, said suits, and it is mani-

festly unjust to enforce the payments of said costs from said
treasurer’s estate; therefore,
1. Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby ordered
to draw his warrant on the state treasurer, payable to V. G.
Dunnington, treasurer of Lynchburg, for the sum of three
hundred and thirty-six dollars and five cents, in full, of such
costs, to September term, eighteen hundred and eighty-four,
of said courts as certified by the clerk thereof. |
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
