Chap. 94.—An ACT to extend the Police Jurisdiction of the city of
Alexandria, and the Jurisdiction of the Corporation Court thereof,
in offences against the Commonwealth.
Approved February 8, 1884.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That
the corporation court of the city of Alexandria “shall have
concurrent jurisdiction with the county courts of Alexandria
and Fairtax counties, in their respective counties, of all offen-
ccs against the commonwealth, for one mile nor th, south and
west of the corporate limits of said city.
2. The police authorities of said city shall have jurisdic-
tion to punish those guilty of offences ayainst the corporation
ordinances within the limits aforesaid, in like manner as if such
offences were committed within the corporate limits of the
said city.
3. Within the limits aforesaid, the police authorities of said
cily shall have jurisdiction to arrest all persons who violate
cither the laws of the commonwealth or the ordinances of
the city of Alexandria.
This act shall be in force from its passave.
